Boniface Makes Blistering Start to Bundesliga Career
Nigerian professional footballer Victor Okoh Boniface has joined Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen, the club announced on Tuesday. Boniface, 23, has signed a five-year contract with the German club after impressing with his performances for Norwegian club Bodo/Glimt.
Impressive Track Record
Boniface has a proven track record of success at both club and international level. He was the top scorer in the Norwegian Eliteserien in 2021, scoring 15 goals in 29 appearances. He also helped Bodo/Glimt win the Norwegian Cup in 2021 and the league title in 2020.
International Debut
Boniface made his international debut for Nigeria in 2022 and has since earned three caps. He was part of the Nigerian squad that finished third at the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations.
Bright Future at Leverkusen
Boniface is expected to play a key role in Leverkusen's attack, which is looking to improve on its seventh-place finish in the Bundesliga last season. He has already made a blistering start to his Leverkusen career, scoring three goals and providing six assists in his first seven Bundesliga games.
