Galatasaray Wins 1-0 Against Gaziantep in Turkish Süper Lig

Galatasaray Extends Lead at the Top of the Süper Lig Standings

Gaziantep's Unbeaten Streak Ends at Five Games

On Sunday, Galatasaray S.K. defeated Gaziantep F.K. 1-0 in the Turkish Süper Lig, extending their lead at the top of the standings. A solitary goal from Haris Seferovic in the 73rd minute proved to be the difference between the two sides.

The win sees Galatasaray move up to 40 points after 18 matches, three points clear of second-placed Fenerbahçe. Gaziantep, meanwhile, remain in fifth place with 29 points, having lost their unbeaten streak in the Süper Lig at five games.

The match was a closely contested affair, with both teams having chances to score. Gaziantep came close to taking the lead in the first half when Alexandru Maxim hit the crossbar with a free-kick.

Galatasaray eventually broke the deadlock in the second half when Seferovic headed home a cross from Kerem Aktürkoğlu. The goal was the Swiss striker's 10th of the season in all competitions.

The win was a vital one for Galatasaray in their quest to win their first Süper Lig title since 2019. They will be looking to continue their good form when they face İstanbulspor in their next match on January 16.

Gaziantep, meanwhile, will be disappointed to have lost their unbeaten streak, but they will be confident of bouncing back when they face Kasımpaşa in their next match on January 15.
